The Festival de Cannes is the world’s most watched film festival: the red carpet of the Palais des Festivals, premieres every evening and a programme of dinners, beach parties and yacht receptions along the Croisette. 2027 is its 80th edition.
The red-carpet screenings are by invitation and black tie. Most of the social life happens away from the Palais — at the Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc, the beach clubs of the Croisette and the villas of the hills above Cannes.
Hotels on the Croisette sell out months ahead; Antibes, Mougins and Monaco are the usual alternatives.
