Ten kilometres west of the Golden Mile, San Pedro de Alcántara offers a version of Marbella largely untouched by the resort economy that defines the coast to its east. It began as a farming settlement built around sugar cane; today it remains, in the words used across the region, «a refreshingly unspoilt pueblo with an appeal all of its own.»

Plaza de la Iglesia and the Town Centre

The Boulevard and the Beach

Since 2014, the Boulevard — a park built directly over the coastal highway — has given the town a rare stretch of green space connecting village to shoreline.
