Beverly Hills

Central, residential, and composed, Beverly Hills pairs tree-lined streets and discreet storefronts with a noticeably slower pace than its neighbours — a base that keeps guests close to everything without asking them to compete with West Hollywood's noise. West Hollywood & the Sunset Strip

The city's most active district by night, West Hollywood is built around dining, nightlife, and the cultural energy of the Sunset Strip and Melrose Avenue. Nearly every venue in our nightlife guide sits within this district, alongside Chateau Marmont itself.

Malibu

Stretched along the coast northwest of the city, Malibu trades Beverly Hills' formality for beach-facing informality — a string of private coves and celebrity-owned homes along the Pacific Coast Highway, where the city's wealth turns toward surf rather than shopping. Bel-Air & Holmby Hills

Tucked into the canyons above Sunset, Bel-Air and neighbouring Holmby Hills offer the city's most secluded residential luxury — gated estates, private gardens, and almost no street-level commercial presence at all. Downtown LA & the Arts District

Los Angeles's historic core has spent the past decade reinventing itself as a cultural and culinary hub, its converted warehouses now home to galleries and restaurants that draw a younger, more design-forward crowd than the Westside. It offers a genuinely different register of the city, more urban and considerably less coastal than the neighbourhoods above.

Matching Area to Intention

First-time visitors chasing the classic Los Angeles postcard belong in Beverly Hills; those prioritising nightlife and energy should base themselves in West Hollywood; a beach-focused stay points toward Malibu; and travellers seeking total privacy will find it in Bel-Air. Most well-planned trips end up touching all four across a single visit.
